For every event that Lansdowne Children's Centre has, we have an Ambassador. These children and youth represent the event, help to promote the event and are clients of the Centre. TRUE HEROES!
Brooklyn is an 11 year old girl who loves to play with her friends, socialize on Facebook Messenger and play on her iPad. She loves Disney Descendants, DC Superhero girls, dancing and making movies with her friends.
She is the most ultimate hero to the staff here at Lansdowne.
Brooklyn was born with a rare neurologic disorder called episodic ataxia that drastically affects her fine motor, gross motor and speech abilities.
Matt Robillard (Brooke's father) quotes:
Lansdowne Children’s center has been an integral part of Brooklyn's development since a very young age when she was first enrolled with Physiotherapy. Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy. The Early Integration Program soon followed, along with the Recreation Program.
The staff are committed to ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for all. They have been an excellent resource to us as the parents of a special needs child and we can safely say that Brooke would not be the well adjusted, social child that she is today if it weren’t for their help.
Brooklyn is the face of our 2020 Virtual Walk and Roll event, and also participated in our Smile Cookie Campaign that takes place in September.
We are so proud of Brooke and thankful to the great support of her entire family. She has been an amazing Ambassador and was very hands on with all aspects of this event. She has a great spirit and certainly loves being a superhero - she even had a super hero themed birthday party this year!
A special thank you goes out to this amazing child and to her family for the wonderful work that they all do. We would not be able to continue to the work we do here without your great support!
THANK YOU FOR BEING SUCH A BIG PART OF THIS EVENT!
